Bristol Renaissance Faire

Harvey had a good time pulling out grass and throwing it (he learned that from Rowan).

Rowan is running behind the jousting arena.

Two Faire maidens.

Rowan did not like the man operating the butterfly carousel.

But she did like the ride and I caught this smile.

All she needs now is her own little pony.

Playing nicely together.

Sorry I didn't get a family shot at the Faire. By the time we remembered to take a photo, the kids were spent and cranky. This year I made (and we wore) an outfit for Rowan, and outfit for Mom, and a shirt for Dad. Just ran out of time. I'm sure I will get the pants made for Andy whenever we go to the Faire next.
We had a good time, saw many interesting costumes....some were terrible and some were barely there (think chain maille bikinis - Good Lord!) But there were a lot of nice folks there. We didn't buy any gifts since the food was already terribly expensive. I finally got to try the huge turkey leg that I've seen people eat in the past. Have to admit that I was disappointed in it. The meat was rather dry. The best food I ate that day was the strawberry ice cream in the waffle cone. I'm sure they ate those all the time in the 15th century.
We met up with our friends, the Blocks, from Green Bay. They were not in costume, but maybe we can convince them to do it next time. Unfortunately, we did not get a photo of Brian playing with Harvey. That would have been a nice piece of evidence to show that Brian is not as anti-baby as he might have others believe - lol.
The kids were well behaved the whole day and even found short periods to nap in the stroller. We found our car in the grass lot easily, had dirty feet, no sunburns or other injuries, and ate some mediocre Wendy's food on the way home.
We look forward to going back to the Faire with our friends in the future.

First Harvest

I have been growing some vegetables in pots by the side of the house. So far things are growing well. I didn't pick the broccoli fast enough and it flowered (foo!)
So far we have had one ripe tomato. Here is a photo of it in all it's glory.
